I'm very happy that my "in-house photographer," Helena, took the time to share a few tips on how to make your little darling's photo shoot a complete success.

Of course, I don't want to withhold these tips from you from the professionals so that your baby photos are a complete success and you have a wonderful memory to last forever.

When is the best time to take photos of my baby?

"You can't say that in such general terms. At least that's my experience.

I usually photograph newborns in the first two weeks after birth. During this time, the little ones are still sleeping a lot, which helps make the photo shoot very relaxed.

For older babies, the best time is when the children have had enough sleep. We ourselves aren't in the best mood when we're tired either.

But most importantly, the (new) mother must be ready. Some mothers can hardly wait and are already raring to go shortly after giving birth.

Others need some time to adjust to their new living conditions. And that's perfectly fine. Even if the baby is a bit older, great photos will still come out.

And that's what's important to both the new parents and me as a photographer."

Is there anything I should consider when it comes to clothing?

"I personally prefer white and cream-colored clothing for photos. This is nice and subtle and doesn't distract from the baby. Of course, the clothing should also be comfortable, not tight or scratchy.

Natural materials such as cotton or linen also capture the light in a beautiful, warm way.

I have a large collection of clothing in my studio, which I am happy to make available for photo shoots."

What tips do you have to ensure the baby is relaxed during the photo shoot?

"I always say: relaxed parents - relaxed child!

Try not to fit in five other appointments on the day of the shoot. If you're stressed, it will quickly transfer to the child. If you're calm and relaxed, the baby will sense it too. Take your time on this day—it will be reflected in the photos.

What accessories do you like to use in your pictures?

"Haha - I actually really like your hair bows. Babies often have little hair, and a bow like that really accentuates a girl's outfit.

I also like to use accessories made from natural materials... From woven baby baskets to flowers in the background to wooden rattles, everything is used.
